Nineteen Mediators took the Oath of Office

Twelve of the nineteen Livingston County, Center for Dispute Settlement mediators took their Oath of Office at a ceremony conducted as part of the annual holiday open house on Friday 12-8-2017.  Judge Dennis Cohen addressed the mediators and thanked them for their commitment to helping others resolve their conflicts peacefully.  He spoke of the devastation created by the current drug epidemic in our country.  It is a destructive force and he warned they would encounter more of it in the work that they do.  After taking their oath the mediators were congratulated individually by Judge Cohen as they shared with him their years of service; the total years of service shared by the twelve totaled more than 200!
